Dubai’s beauty scene can overwhelm even the most seasoned skincare enthusiasts. With every imaginable beauty treatment just a quick WhatsApp message away, it can be difficult to know what’s worth the investment and what’s just hype. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of Dubai beauty clinics the first time I travelled to the region. How can you choose which spa to go to when there’s an entire neighbourhood dedicated to beauty treatments and every clinic offers the same list of trending treatments?
As someone who has spent a fair amount of time travelling in Dubai, I’ve had the opportunity to test out some great and not-so-great beauty clinics. Here’s my list of treatments that I’d always hop on a flight for.
Wellth Clinic offers everything from homoeopathy, Chinese Medicine, energy healing, Ayurveda, functional medicine and natural aesthetics. The wide range of expertise is intentional; the body is a system, and frequently we fixate on healing symptoms and not addressing the root. With the broad range of offerings at Wellth, including diagnostic testing, you’re able to have a 360-degree understanding of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being and address your body’s needs through multiple modalities. For a comprehensive experience, book a consultation with functional medicine specialist Dr. Karima Arroud. My goal was to improve my metabolic health and after a series of tests, Dr. Arroud recommended a stack of peptides that would help my recovery, support my metabolism, and boost collagen production. I was prescribed AOD-9604, an amino acid that promotes weight loss and boosts metabolic function, GHK-Cu, a copper complex that promotes collagen, reduces inflammation and supports smoother and firmer skin, and MOTS-c, a mitochondrial-derived peptide that improves metabolic health, promotes anti-ageing benefits, and increases energy efficiency.

Fillers and Botox won’t be going anywhere anytime soon but skin boosters are changing how we approach skincare by shifting the conversation away from immediate results to skin regeneration. While Botox freezes nerves and fillers add volume, skin boosters work to boost collagen in the skin, hydrate, and rejuvenate the skin. It improves the health of your skin rather than simply providing a cosmetic fix.
Exosomes are a popular skin booster derived from stem cells and used to heal and tighten skin. Injecting them into the dermis can boost collagen production, reduce wrinkles and pigmentation, and improve texture and pore size. I saw Dr. Nihal Hussein at Shookra, and from the first meeting onwards I knew I’d be flying to Dubai regularly to see her. She’s an internationally certified aesthetic and functional medicine specialist who integrates advanced dermatology, hormonal diagnostics, and regenerative medicine to provide the most holistic and results-driven approach to your care.
Although I was there for an exosome treatment, Dr. Hussein suggested an oligoscan test, which showed which vitamins and minerals my body was deficient in and also my body’s heavy metal load. From there, she created a customized IV drip that would address the deficiencies shown in the oligoscan composed of glutathione and Vitamin C for skin health.
Now for the injections. I’ve had my fair share of painful beauty treatments (looking at you, HIFU and salmon DNA), and I was expecting exosomes to be up there. I’m not sure if it was Dr. Hussein’s light hands, the numbing cream, or just the treatment itself, but I was pleasantly surprised with how mild the injections were. There was minimal downtime or discomfort. Although two to three treatments are generally recommended, I started noticing improvements to my skin after the ten-day mark, including smaller pores and a more even skin tone. The wow-factor was the plumpness of my skin; exosomes improve your skin’s ability to retain water, leading to better hydration and a healthier skin barrier.

Maria Dowling’s team does balayage like no one else I’ve ever met. Dowling has been dubbed the “Queen of Balayage” and has won several awards for her artistry. I’ve never colored my hair before, and have been seeing the same stylist since I was 16, so I was a little nervous to trust someone new with my hair. But I’d seen some of the work Maria had done, and knew if there was anyone I’d trust to do my hair, it would be someone from her salon.
I walked in with a Pinterest board of inspo that I was set on – a golden brown balayage with caramel brown roots. But after asking me about my lifestyle, hair goals, and how much time I’d have for upkeep, the stylists gently steered me towards a different look. And she was right. She chose a cooler brown tone to complement my skin and explained that the Pinterest look I wanted would look too orange. It’s been six months since my treatment and the color is still just as gorgeous, and I haven’t had to go back for touch-ups.
I still daydream about the lymphatic massage I got at The Hundred Wellness Center with Krisztina Jolsvai. Using the renowned Földi Complex Manual Edema Therapy method, Jolsvai worked my body in a way that was gentle but immediately noticeable. Unlike other lymphatic treatments, the Földi Method includes multiple components and vigorous exercises that are done while the patient is wearing compression garments.
The treatment started with an assessment, where the therapist took the time to understand my concerns, lifestyle habits, and desired results. Next, she began by opening my lymph nodes and then moved through my body with gentle, rhythmic strokes. Unlike Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, the Földi method incorporates breathwork and muscle-pumping exercises that you’re encouraged to do regularly at home. You’ll leave feeling lighter, relaxed, and really needing to pee! Lymphatic drainage massages work best when done on a regular basis and with this method, it’s important to work through each phase (there are three) for maximum results. A week after my treatment, I noticed less puffiness in my arms and face. What I appreciate most about this method is it gives you tools to work with at home – meaning your treatment doesn’t stop once you leave the massage room.

Peaq is the first social wellness club in the Middle East, and the perfect recovery spot equipped with red light therapy, Lagree classes, an IV drip lounge, a café, and a communal sauna and cold plunge. I went to Peaq in between treatment days when I needed a movement-focused reset. Their pilates class is the perfect low-impact movement that worked my core without the exhaustion that comes with a HIIT class. With a focus on proper breathing techniques, intentional high-tension movement, the class will leave you feeling strong, grounded and ready for a cold plunge.
There are private hot/cold therapy suites if you’re someone who wants a little more privacy. The communal option is great if you’re looking for a more social experience. Most contrast therapy practitioners recommended spending 10 to 15 minutes in the sauna, and pausing to hydrate and cool off naturally, before showering and hopping in the cold plunge. Hot cold exposure can help reduce inflammation, improve cardiovascular health, support circulation and muscle recovery.
As someone with curly hair, I’ve always been a little bit wary of going to a Japanese-inspired head spa. I tried a similar K-beauty spa in Seoul a few years ago, and let’s just say I spent the next three days trying to detangle my hair. But at The Nest, stylists are trained to work with every hair type (as any good stylist should be), and I was able to enjoy a pampering treatment without worrying about the state of my curls.
The treatment is a full sensory experience – as water flows gently over your scalp in a rhythmic cascade, a heated pad is placed over your eyes while a therapist massages your arms. Then comes the best part – a soothing scalp massage that encourages blood circulation to the head and neck. Be it from life stress or from how we style our hair, most women carry a tremendous amount of tension on their scalp. This treatment will not only leave you with healthier and softer hair, but it also works to relieve the buildup of stress so many of us carry.
The Korean Facelift at the IV Wellness Lounge is a customized beauty treatment that can include fillers, Botox, HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), or other laser treatments. Prior to your treatment, you’ll meet with one of the clinic’s aesthetic doctors and address any skin concerns or goals that you have.
My goal was greater facial symmetry and my treatment included masseter Botox, a slight eyebrow lift, and HIFU, a non-invasive technology that stimulates collagen production, tightens skin and contours the jawline. Paired together, Botox and HIFU can slim, tone and lift the face all in one non-invasive treatment. And the best part about HIFU is results can last up to two years, with maximum lifting and tightening effects happening around the two to three month mark. The worst part? It hurts. HIFU uses concentrated ultrasound energy and works in the deep layers of the skin by using heat to trigger a regenerative response. The results are rapid collagen production and a sculpted face. Even with numbing cream, the treatment felt like my jaw was zapped by fragments of glass, and I had the doctor stop a few times for a breather. But the results were exactly what I was looking for – a sharper jawline, lifted brows and an overall elevated look. In 2026, the best skincare treatments are the subtle ones that work with your features and carefully adjust or correct an imbalance. Not the ones that override your natural beauty.
