Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be tricky, especially when you have a curvy body type. A pair of denim might fit well on some parts of your body but less so in others, and you may experience the infamous waist gap so many hourglass-shaped women know too well.
We recently interviewed model and influencer Denise Mercedes who raved about American Eagle jeans. “American Eagle’s curvy jeans are a life-changer,” she told us. “When I wear jeans they tend to gap because I have a bigger bottom and smaller top. They hug your body in the right way.”
That got us thinking about what other jeans are great for curvier physiques, so we asked three plus-size and curvy influencers about their favorite curvy, hourglass, and big booty jeans. Here’s what they had to say:

What’s your favorite jeans brand and model? How did you discover it?
My favorite jeans, believe it or not, are from Banana Republic. Honestly, any jeans from them for us curvy gals are amazing but especially the boyfriend jeans and anything high-waisted skinny.
What makes this brand particularly suited to a curvy physique or big booty?
I stumbled upon their jeans while shopping for a summer dress six years ago. It was a eureka moment because I saw they carried size 32 (equivalent to a US 14!)! That never happens! For a retailer to carry plus-size in-store so curvy gals can actually try on the product prior to purchasing is very uncommon. I honestly didn’t think their jeans would fit amazing but they do.
How do you like to style your jeans?
I style my jeans with crop tops if it’s a boyfriend jean and some Manolo pumps. If it’s a skinny high-waisted denim, I go with oversized tee or hoodie and wear my Triple S Balenciagas or Comme de Garçons chuck trainers. I also love an oversized white button-down boyfriend collared shirt tied at the waist with denim, so chic and modern!
What’s your favorite jeans brand and model? How did you discover it?
My all-time favorite jeans are the American Eagle curvy jeans. I discovered them one summer when I was searching for jean shorts that were slim in the waist and had enough coverage. This is so hard to find! After I found the perfect shorts I tried their denim jeans and I’ve never favored any brand more.
What makes this brand particularly suited to a curvy physique or big booty?
This brand has curvy models wearing the clothes on the website, so it’s easy to see how it would fit on a curvier physique. They also have lots of options as far as sizing and fit so you can get short, regular or long jeans. They are truly customizable.
How do you like to style your jeans?
I like to style my jeans in many different ways. Sometimes I’ll dress them up if I’m going to brunch or an event, or I’ll dress them down if I’m just being casual. My favorite things to pair with jeans is some white sneakers and a white top for a simple yet chic outfit.

What’s your favorite jeans brand and model? How did you discover it?
Some of my favorite jeans are from Warp + Weft, which is a sustainable, size-inclusive line from the same company as DL1961. I discovered them via Instagram. I love that they carry regular sizes, plus sizes, maternity, tall, and petite!
What makes this brand particularly suited to a curvy physique or big booty?
I love the fit and cut of their jeans. They have a fitted waistband that isn’t overly stretchy. The denim itself is structured but stretchy, making for a super comfortable fit, especially if you have a smaller waist but are fuller through the hips. The fitted waistband also keeps the jeans from gapping at the back, which is a common issue for those of us with a bigger booty. The styles are also fairly high-waisted, which I love.
How do you like to style your jeans?
My go-to denim look is a pair of ankle-length skinny jeans with a statement top or something a bit more feminine, like a blouse. I usually opt for heels or sneakers, depending on the occasion.
