While summer is a great season to go relatively barefaced and makeup-free, fall is when we like to turn things up a notch when it comes to beauty. That’s why a lot of our favorite brands have come out with incredible eyeshadow palettes sure to turn heads during fall parties and holiday events. The colors are rich, vibrant and scintillating on the eyes. Here are our favorite palettes and what you’ll likely be reaching for when you’re getting ready in the next few months.
1. Huda Precious Stones Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette
Huda has truly outdone herself — this fall she launched five insane palettes and you’ll probably covet all them. They come in rich jewel shades; amethyst, ruby, emerald, topaz, and sapphire, and are absolutely perfect for the colder season when we can pull off bolder shades. I’m partial to the sapphire palette which features a rich midnight blue and a luxurious royal blue. However, all of the palettes feature a great range of colors and come in matte and shimmery textures.
2. Pat McGrath Bronze Seduction Mothership Eyeshadow Palette (Also pictured top)
Everything about this palette is rich — the deep colors, the flawless packaging and at $125, the price tag. The palette ranges from an angelic pearl shade to a deep eggplant with lots of shimmery gold and peach tones in between. Two colors will really amp up your holiday spirit, a bright red tone and a duochrome green which changes color from different vantage points (in certain instances it can even look pinkish). This palette can be used throughout the day, to add some light sparkle for brunch and then go for a more sultry look at night.
3. Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette
This palette is as festive as it gets and could not be more appropriate for holiday season. It holds 19 shades in a circular tray that resembles the shape of a tree ornament and the color range is filled with shimmer — there are only three matte shades so this selection is extra opulent. At $52 this palette is certainly not the cheapest, but you’re getting a lot of options and a plethora of colors that will easily carry you through the fall and holiday season looking fabulous.
4. Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eyeshadow Palette
What invokes more holiday feels than gingerbread? Just reading the word makes me taste cinnamon deliciousness in my mouth and I can almost smell mulled wine and hear Christmas carols in the background. The tones in this palette are warm with golds, browns and pinks prominently featured. Like the cookie its named after, this palette is sweet and appropriate for family get-togethers and holiday work events.
